ADC welcomes removal of antisemitic graffiti targeting Daniel Andrews

Chairman of the Anti-Defamation Commission, Dr Dvir Abramovich, has welcomed the removal by the Manningham Council of the antisemitic graffiti that was spray-painted on a busy road in Donvale earlier this week.

The vandalism read “Stop Dan Andrews,” with a Star of David replacing the “a” in Dan and a Swastika for the final “s”.

A spokesperson for Doncaster Police has confirmed that the matter has been recorded on the Victoria Police database and will be investigated.

Dr Abramovich said, “This was a hate crime, pure and simple, and is part of  a worrying surge in such incidents, especially the use of the swastika.”

He had a clear message to those who think they can intimidate the Jewish community with their hateful messages:

“Don’t count on it.”

He continued: “This is Melbourne, and we are better than this.

We will never stop fighting back against this kind of evil, and we will not be deterred from calling out the neo-Nazis and racists, whenever and wherever they surface”
