One of the world’s top diplomats to deliver the 2017 ADC-Gandel Oration

Former special Middle East Coordinator for President Clinton and one of the world’s most respected and experienced diplomats, Ambassador Dennis Ross, will deliver the 34th ADC-Gandel Oration in Melbourne on July 6, and in Sydney on July 11.

Ambassador Ross, who served in four American administrations and who worked with several presidents and Secretaries of State, will address the topic Doomed to Succeed: Defeating Anti-Semitism and Building Peace in the 21st century, offering unmatched and unique insights on the growing threat of global anti-Semitism, the defamation of Israel and strategies to secure peace.

The author of many influential books, and a frequent contributor to CNN, Fox News, The Washington Post, New York Times and many other publications, Ambassador Ross was awarded the Presidential Medal for Distinguished Federal Civilian Service by President Clinton, and Secretaries Baker and Albright presented him with the State Department’s highest award.

ADC Chairman, Dr Dvir Abramovich issued the following statement:

“The ADC and Gandel Philanthropy are proud and honoured to host Ambassador Dennis Ross, a distinguished diplomat and an acclaimed statesman of the highest order who is widely admired for his remarkable service and contribution to global affairs. Renowned as one of the most articulate and best informed figures in international politics, for decades Ambassador Ross played a powerful and vital role in shaping US foreign policy. He possesses an incredible wealth of information and an incisive vision that he is keen to share with Australian audiences which I am sure will be completely enthralled by him. The last four Gandel Orations were truly inspiring and unforgettable occasions that sold out weeks in advance, and I have no doubt that this will the case this year. This is an event not to be missed!”
