“We are delighted with this announcement and wholeheartedly support the nomination. For many decades,  Irwin Cotler has been an unwavering leader and role model in the ongoing battle against prejudice, racism and anti-Semitism. Without fail,  Mr Cotler has been on the frontlines, standing up valiantly for the cherished cause of human rights. A scholar of international renown, he has inspired scores of young people with his principled views and actions, and with his tireless dedication to ending injustice. The ADC has always admired Mr Cotler for his courage and tenacity in working to make this world a better place, and for championing the values of freedom, peace and democracy around the world. As we witness a worrying escalation in intolerance, racial and religious violence and bigotry everywhere,  it is clear that Irwin Cotler’s moral and intellectual leadership and immense contribution in transforming the lives of so many, is deserving of this high award.”
