B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission strongly condemns the vandalising and defacement of The Memorial Genocide monument in Bonnyrigg, Western Sydney

 April 20, 2015

The Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has strongly condemned the vandalising and Syd-1 (1)defacement of The Memorial Genocide monument in Bonnyrigg, Western Sydney with swastikas and offensive anti-Semitic and anti-Assyrian slogans.

Dr. Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, issued the following statement:

“I am horrified and outraged by this hateful and anti-Semitic attack, which is a matter of deep concern.  As Jews, we know all too well what it is like to be targeted by violence and racism, and we decry this senseless and disgraceful act of disrespect toward the deceased. It is a sad and distressing reminder of the lengths people will go to express their bigotry.  Hate crimes against any community must not be tolerated, and we call on political and religious leaders to stand against this shocking act of intimidation and to send the message that we will stand by any group when such assaults occur. We are confident that the NSW Police will pursue every avenue of investigation to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice.”
