B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission statement on the planned address by Senators Hanson and Roberts in Caulfield for The Independent Jewish Council of Australia

Today, Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), issued the following statement regarding the proposed address by Senator Pauline Hanson and Senator Malcolm Roberts in Caulfield next month for the newly formed Independent Jewish Council of Australia:

“While people are entitled to express their views, we hope that Senators Hanson and Roberts do not use this platform to scapegoat, single out and demonise any religious and ethnic group, which only undermines our multicultural society and contributes to a climate in which bigotry and hatred become  mainstream and acceptable. We also call on Senator Roberts to disassociate himself from the book Secrets of the Federal Reserve by notorious anti-Semite and Holocaust denier Eustace Mullins, which Senator Roberts cites as primary reference in his Why? Motives Driving Climate Change and to immediately remove that text from his report. Mullins accused  Jews of being parasites, baby-killers and blood-drinkers and peddled his ugly rhetoric about international Jewish banking conspiracies, claiming that “The Federal Reserve Bank is really just the high Jewish bank”.  Mullins’s writings, tarred with his vile racism, should never be cited or used in any debate, let alone by a parliamentarian.”

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading civil rights organization fighting racism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
