B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission outraged by swastikas sprayed on an Adelaide Mosque

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), Australia’s leading organisation fighting hatred in all its forms, has denounced the attack on an Adelaide mosque in Elizabeth Grove that was spray painted with swastikas and racist slogans, including messages such as ‘No Muslim,’ ‘We’re full’, and the number 88— a code for ‘Heil Hitler’.

”This vicious attack on a house of worship is an outrageous act of hatred and intolerance. As a civil and human rights organisation dedicated to countering bigotry and prejudice, we are deeply troubled and strongly denounce this crime. Targeting one community because of their faith is an assault on us all and strikes at the very heart of fundamental Australian values of multiculturalism, freedom and respect. We hope that the perpetrators are swiftly identified, arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and that every voice speaks together in denouncing this abhorrent deed.”

The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
