B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission hosts Limmud Oz session on confronting bigotry

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) hosted an eye-opening and thought-provoking session during the most recent Limmud Oz in Melbourne. The session, attracting a capacity crowd was titled, “Confronting bigotry in Australia” and was moderated by ADC Chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich. Panellists Nevo Zisin, Sunshine Kamaloni, Nivy Balachandran and Philip Searle spoke passionately and movingly about their own experiences with the virus of prejudice and discrimination as offered an array of strategies to counter this growing problem. Topics included intolerance towards the LGBTIQ community, religious and ethnic vilification, anti-Semitism and the importance of education. A lively Q&A followed with audience members expressing their admiration for the participants’ commitment to civil rights and equality.
