B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission honours honours Helen Kapalos With its ADC Leadership Award

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), Australia’s leading organisation fighting hatred in all its forms, has honoured Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission Helen Kapalos with its ADC Leadership Award, bestowed on individuals who distinguish themselves and their organizations through their dedication to advancing the cause of dignity, diversity, and equal opportunity for all citizens

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“We are delighted to honour Helen Kapalos who as Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission has worked tirelessly to combat discrimination and hatred and to promote tolerance and respect among all Victorians.  Through her dedication and service she has inspired others to build strong communities that are open to all people without regard to religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Our organizations are natural allies in the battle against the racists, the bigots, the extremists—against all of the haters—who must be confronted wherever and whenever they emerge because if any person or group is not safe, then none of us are.  Helen’s drive and dedication to the community is worthy of the respect, admiration, and commendation of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission.”

The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
