The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), has strongly denounced the newly released track “Flatlines” by U.S rapper B.o.B in which he peddles anti-Semitic theories and Holocaust denial. The song includes such lyrics as, “Stalin was way worse than Hitler, that’s why the POTUS (President of the United States) gotta wear a Kipper,” and “They nervous, but before you try to curve it, do your research on David Irving.”

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“It is outrageous that B.o.B has released a track that contains anti-Semitic themes and which endorses convicted Holocaust denier David Irving. The song peddles and fuells the classic, age-old lie that powerful Jews control the machinery of government, in particular the U.S president. Such hurtful and dangerous accusations against Jews have no place in music, and we are very worried that B.o.B’s young and impressionable listeners will believe this falsehood and take on board his derogatory message. Perhaps B.o.B should be reminded of High Court Judge Charles Gray’s original finding that David Irving is an “active Holocaust denier”, “anti-Semitic and racist” and one “who associates with right-wing extremists who promote neo-Nazism” as well as the statement of Justice Malcolm Pill during the Appeals Court decision that, “it was fair to describe Irving as one of the most dangerous spokespersons for Holocaust denial.” Popular artists with such a large following should exercise greater care, and should not use their music as a platform to degrade any group, promote shameful conspiracy theories and give credence to Holocaust denial through bigoted lyrics. We call on B.o.B to do the right thing by immediately apologising, and to explain to his fans that why he was wrong.”

The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and racism.
