B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission congratulates President-Elect Donald Trump

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), has congratulated Donald Trump on his election as the 45th president of the United States.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“The American people have spoken and we congratulate President-elect Trump on his victory and wish him well as he assumes the most powerful political office in the world. We are pleased by his election night’s commitment to guide the country as it works to “bind the wounds of division” and to “come together as one people”. It is indeed our hope that President-elect Trump will devote his energies to ensure that the divisiveness and bigoted rhetoric we witnessed during the campaign is addressed and countered. President-elect Trump will face many daunting challenges in the years to come, including the prospects of a nuclear Iran, ISIS, international terrorism, the surge in global anti-Semitism and the scourge of the BDS movement, and a hostile, unstable Middle-East. President-elect Trump is regarded as a staunch ally of Israel, and we are heartened by his  openly declared commitments to the Jewish state’s security and his pledge to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital. The world looks to the American president to build bridges with all nations as well as to advance the goals of peace, freedom and prosperity shared by all people. We also convey our best wishes and thanks to Secretary Hillary Clinton for her decades of dedicated  public service, and wish her well in her future endeavours.”
