B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission troubled by World Health Organisation targeting Israel for censure

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has condemned the decision by the U.N’s World Health Organization (WHO) to investigate Israel for supposed “mental, physical and environmental health” violations. No other country was singled out. The anti-Israel resolution, supported by 104 representatives, was co-sponsored by the Arab states and was approved during the annual assembly of the organisation.

The ADC commended Australia for opposing the motion.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“It is deeply troubling that a U.N body has once again allowed its agenda and actions to be manipulated by the Palestinians and the Arab states. It reflects the prevailing politicised and one-sided bias against Israel that is making peace impossible. This counterproductive resolution will only further inflame the fires of hate against the Jewish state and will harm the chances for negotiation and reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians. We applaud the Australian government for having the moral courage to stand up and to oppose this prejudiced and damaging motion.”

The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
