ADC welcomes the removal of Hitler and Golliwog money boxes from a Daylesford collectibles store

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), Australia’s leading organisation fighting anti-Semitism and hatred in all its forms, has welcomed the removal of Hitler and Golliwog money boxes from a stall at a Daylesford collectibles store. The store management was informed of the availability of the items and promptly pulled the articles from sale as they breached the store’s community standards rules.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“We welcome the store’s speedy action in removing these disturbing anti-Semitic and racist items. No shop should be profiting from products that promote racism, violence and hate. As we have previously stated, all businesses need to be very vigilant in ensuring that obscene and abhorrent materials that incite hatred and bigotry are never offered for sale.”

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading civil rights organization fighting racism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
