ADC honours Aspendale Primary School with ‘Standing up to hatred’ Award

Last week, Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC,  presented Aspendale Primary principal Cheryl Osborne with the ADC’s ‘Standing up to Hatred Award’ for her school’s commitment to embedding the values of empathy and respect, and for its participation in the ADC’s groundbreaking anti-bias program Click Against Hate.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“We commend Aspendale Primary School for committing to a program that teaches students how to combat racism and cyber-bullying,  and which helps to create a positive environment that contributes to stopping the escalation of hatred in our community.   This award acknowledges that schools can take the lead in embedding the values of tolerance and empathy, ensuring that everyone feels safe and respected by building an ally-culture, and inspiring young people to take action when they are confronted with any manifestation of prejudice.”
