ADC deeply troubled by anti-Israel UN Forum; calls for an end to funding of UN Committee

The ADC has expressed its deep concern at an anti-Israel two day forum marking “Fifty Years of Occupation” that was convened by the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP). The conference turned into a platform to bash Israel, with speakers accusing the Jewish state of practicing “apartheid worse than South Africa”, and promoting the BDS campaign. During his address, Saeb Erekat, secretary- general of the PLO claimed that Hamas and the PFLP are not terrorist organizations.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“To no one’s surprise, this gathering was hijacked by obsessive anti-Israel proponents who used the occasion to peddle smears and lies against the Jewish state, to incite, and to endorse boycotts against the only democracy in the Middle-east. Once again, the CEIRPP has been used as a weapon to advance the Palestinian narrative and to vilify Israel, and this manipulation of UN bureaucratic agencies, which are already tainted with institutional bias, demonstrably shows that the funding for this body must cease immediately.”
