ADC decries terrorist attack in Berlin

Today, Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC),  issued the following statement following the horrifying terrorist attack in Berlin, Germany, that claimed the lives of 12 people and injured at least 50. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“We decry this horrifying and depraved terrorist attack in Berlin, Germany, in the strongest possible terms . Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims, and we wish the wounded a full and speedy recovery. During this dark period of national grief and mourning, we send our sympathies to the German people  and government as they grapple with this traumatic and heartbreaking tragedy. It is our hope that those who aided in the planning and in the carrying out of this sickening assault are apprehended and brought to justice. This latest chapter of barbarism is a stark reminder that no one is safe until the evil of ISIS and Islamist extremism are defeated and that the civilised world must vigorously work together to mount a coordinated campaign to confront this terrorist scourge that threatens our shared values as well as our security and peace.”

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading civil rights organization fighting racism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
