The ADC has condemned the vandalising of a Bentleigh war memorial. Over the weekend, the Jasper Rd cenotaph was defaced with black spray paint.
Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:
“We decry in the strongest possible terms this senseless act of disrespect towards our war heroes who fought valiantly and who paid the ultimate price in defending our democratic way of life and freedom. It is a sad and distressing reminder of the lengths people will go to express their bigotry and to intimidate the community, and part of the dramatic and alarming upsurge in hate crimes taking place across the nation.”
