Washington DC, USA, Melbourne, Australia… B’nai B’rith International and The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) have expressed their outrage at a resolution passed by the European parliament to label goods produced in Jewish settlements in the West Bank as well as in Eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
Dan Mariaschin, Executive Vice President of B’nai B’rith International, and ADC Chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich issued the following statement:
“We are disappointed that the European Parliament has passed a resolution that supports a policy that will cause great economic and political harm to the Jewish state. This resolution is an affirmation of the discriminatory goals of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Such a misguided approach is destructive to the peace process and gives momentum to opponents of Israel who seek to delegitimize the Jewish state by weakening its economy and isolating it politically. We call on all European governments to reject this biased and counterproductive resolution which will do nothing to promote dialogue and negotiation between Israelis and Palestinians.”
