The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has welcomed the decision by Typo to pull the offensive globe that omitted Israel from the map and replaced it with Palestine from their stores and to halt production of the item. A Typo representative stated that the retailer will wait until their supplier can provide a glove that features Israel.

ADC Chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich issued the following statement:

“I welcome the decision by Typo and am pleased that they were sensitive to the ADC’s and the community’s grave concerns. This right decision shows that Typo ultimately grasped how unfair and biased the globe they were selling was. The initial explanation offered by Typo, attempting to rationalise Israel’s exclusion, was offensive and unacceptable. As we stated, young people are entitled to have access to highly accurate geographical information about the world, and should not be presented with educational items that promote a false narrative that denies Israel’s existence.  It is my hope that this sad incident is not repeated and that Typo learns from this regrettable lapse of judgement and reaches out to their customers with an apology.”
