Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) today issued the following statement to mark the one-year anniversary of the deadly Copenhagen terrorist assaults that claimed the lives of Danish filmmaker Finn Norgaard and Dan Uzan, a Jewish volunteer guard who prevented the gunman from entering a Bat mitzva celebration at the Krystalgade synagogue he was protecting. Five others were injured in the attacks.

“On this one-year anniversary that took the lives of Finn Norgaard and Dan Uzan, we honour the victims of this horrific attack and share in the grief and sadness of their loss. The wounds of this tragic day are still very fresh to many people, most painfully to the families affected. We remember with gratitude the heroism shown by Dan Uzan who gave his life to save the lives of others. Today, as we pay tribute and commemorate this solemn occasion, we once again call on Europe and all nations to remain committed to the battle against radical movements  who wish to destroy our core values and cherished way of life, and to stand united in defeating the evil of anti-Semitism. In these dark days of peril, as we face great adversity, we must work together to make this world a better and safer place.”
