B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission deplores latest anti-Semitic rant from Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir
April 15, 2015
The B’nai Brith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) denounced a video that surfaced today of a sermon from Hizb ut-Tahrir spiritual leader Ismail al-Wahwah in which he labels the Jews “the most evil creature of Allah” and states that “Moral corruption is linked to the Jews. Prostitution in the world began with the Israelites. Usury and gambling began with the Israelites. Killing began with the Israelites”. In the video, posted on the group’s internet video channel, Ismail al-Wahwah claims that the Jews will “Pay with blood for blood, with tears for tears, and with destruction for destruction.”
Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, issued the following statement:
“This is the latest in a long litany of hate-filled statements from Ismail al-Wahwah who is using the megaphone of the internet and the platform of organization to promote hatred aimed at Jews. This inexcusable and unabashed promotion of anti-Semitism, bigotry and incitement is getting worse and worse and uglier and uglier. All Australians should be deeply worried about this radical and frightening expression of intolerance. It is also of concern that Hizb ut-Tahrir has a following who not only listen raptly, but who may act on the calls to violence heard on the video. We back the call made by the NSW JBOD for authorities to take immediate and effective action to deal with this message of hatred that has crossed many red lines, and call on all political, communal and religious leaders to reject this extreme and outrageous conduct.”
