B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission denounces series of anti-Israel U.N resolutions

November 12, 2016

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), Australia’s leading organisation fighting anti-Semitism and hatred in all its forms, has denounced a series of anti-Israel resolutions passed by the U.N. General Assembly, accusing Israel of human rights violations against the Palestinians and recycling the UNESCO motions passed in October erasing ties between the Jewish people and Temple Mount. Other resolutions called on Israel to withdraw from the Golan.

ADC Chairman, Dr Dvir Abramovich, issued the following statement:

“We should not be surprised that once again the U.N has chosen to adopt a series of lopsided and rabidly anti-Israel resolutions that deny the Jewish people’s incontrovertible connection to Jerusalem.  The ten motions voted on censuring Israel are more than twice as those passed about all U.N member states combined.  Make no mistake: these disproportionate resolutions are part of a long-running campaign to vilify, scapegoat and delegitimize the only democracy in the Middle-East, and clearly demonstrate that the U.N has lost any credibility and cannot claim that is an impartial body.  This kind of institutional bias and offensive politicization will not contribute in any way to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian issue, only inflame tensions.”

The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading civil rights organization fighting racism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
