ADC: White supremacist campaign of intimidation on Australian campuses persists

The ADC, Australia’s leading organisation fighting hatred in all its forms, has decried the appearance of racist posters with the slogan “Social nationalism or nothing” and featuring  Adolf Hitler-like images and the Nazi swastika at the University of Newcastle Callaghan campus. A leading figure from the extremist white-nationalist group responsible for distributing the posters told the media that, “Hitler has gotten a very bad wrap; he wanted the best for his country and we want the best for our country.”

ADC Chairman, Dr Dvir Abramovich, issued the following statement:

“It is clear that Australian white-supremacists are intensifying their campaign of intimidation at universities across the nation, openly brandishing their racist and neo-Nazi agenda and attempting to create a physical presence on campuses. As we have stated previously, this is a worrying and disturbing development, especially at a   time when anti-Semitism and bigotry are on the rise. The response by government, police and universities must be serious and tough so as to send the message to all students that such unbridled hatred will never be tolerated. We hope that those who are distributing this materials are found and brought to justice. This incident once again shows the urgent need for all good people and groups to stand together against such intolerance and to declare that the escalation of this brand of brazen racism is a threat to our common values and democratic way of life.”
