ADC deplores anti-Israel resolutions passed by U.N General Assembly

The ADC has deplored the six anti-Israel resolutions passed by United Nations General Assembly, including one that once again denies Israel’s historic connection to Jerusalem by only using the Muslim name for Judaism’s holiest site— The Temple Mount. In another resolution, the U.N claimed that it is Israel’s presence on the Golan Heights that is a block to peace in the Mid-East, not the genocidal regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, or the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“We have come to expect this anti-Israel sentiment and resolutions which underpin the UN’s odious and hypocritical treatment of the Jewish state. Once again, the UNGA chose to disavow Judaism’s ties to Jerusalem and to put the blinders on in ignoring the Palestinians’ role in the conflict, which is in keeping with its ongoing bias and animosity towards Israel. It beggars belief that the only democracy in this troubled region, a symbol of democracy, tolerance and diversity, is relentlessly subjected to such prejudice and venom. The 151 nations who voted for these shameful resolution should know that Jerusalem has been at the core of Jewish identity for 3,000 years, and that for nearly seventy years it has been Israel’s capital. Since 1967, unlike the Jordanians who for 19 years prevented the Jewish people from accessing their Holy sites, Israel has ensured that Christians and Muslims are granted access to their sites. It is surprising that Australia did not join the United States, Canada, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands in voting against all of these warped resolutions and instead abstained.”
