ADC criticises outrageously misleading headline in The Australian newspaper and Sky News about the murder of an Israeli policewoman by Palestinian terrorists

The ADC has voiced its strong criticism at an outrageously misleading headline that appeared today in The Australian newspaper and Sky News concerning the terrorist attacks on Israeli police in Jerusalem that resulted in the death of 23-year policewoman old Hadas Malka. The headline featured in The Australian and Sky News was, “Palestinians killed after attacking police.”

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC issued the following statement:

“I am troubled by this inaccurate and irresponsible headline which will no doubt be misinterpreted by readers and which does a tremendous disservice to the truth. The misleading headline reverses the terrorist and the victim, depicting the perpetrators as the victims and the Israeli police officers who were defending themselves from murder by the three attackers into the culprits. This is a distortion of the facts that is detached from reality. The Australian and Sky News are a much respected and important news organisations and they must ensure that they get the story right. We call on them to change the headline in a timely fashion.”
