ADC condemns murderous attack against Coptic Christians in Egypt

The ADC has strongly condemned the massacre of 29 Coptic Christians in Egypt. Buses carrying worshipers on a desert road headed to a monastery in the Minya governorate south of Cairo were attacked by armed assailants. ISIS has now claimed responsibility.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC, issued the following statement:

“Once again, Coptics in Egypt are the victims of a deadly attack, and the frequency and upsurge of such barbarities in recent years is deeply troubling. That Christians, a persecuted minority in the Middle-east, are now unable to practise their faith safely and without fear, is a reminder that Arab and Muslim countries must take concrete and effective steps to tackle this growing threat. During this difficult time, The ADC stands in solidarity with Christians in Egypt and worldwide, and reiterates its call for religious and ethnic minorities in the region to be better protected from this violent scourge.”
