ADC awards Lisa Wilkinson with A Light Unto the Nation Award

Melbourne, Australia—The Anti-Defamation Commission has awarded respected editor, journalist and co-host the Project Lisa Wilkinson AM with its inaugural Light Unto the Nation Award for her championing of equality and for speaking out against bullying. The award was presented at the Channel 10 Studios in Melbourne.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the ADC said:

“Lisa Wilkinson is more than just a journalist and TV presenter. A leading light in promoting gender equality, she is a unique and inspirational advocate for social change, and a positive role model for people of all ages. This award pays tribute to her deeply principled leadership, for being a positive and inspiring role model and for mentoring young women. Through her fundamental commitment to respect and tolerance— values that perfectly embody our mission— Ms. Wilkinson has built awareness about the problem of bullying and discrimination, and by using her public stature, as well as her courage and conviction, has empowered many to stand up and speak out. In a  world sorely in need of principled and genuine champions, Lisa Wilkinson  has answered the call by being strong voice and a moral centre to remind us of what  being an Australian is all about.”
