Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the  ADC, Australia’s leading organisation fighting anti-Semitism, has issued the following statement following the  terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey, that claimed the lives of 39 people and injured at least 69. A gunman, who authorities believed opened fire in a crowded Istanbul club during a New Year’s eve celebration. According to news reports, among the foreigners murdered, was an Israeli woman, 18-year-old Lian Nasser. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless and horrendous crime that has taken the lives of so many people celebrating the New Year. We offer our sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the full and speedy recovery of the wounded. Once again, we are reminded that no one is safe until the cancer of radical Islamist terrorism, that knows no bounds or borders and keeps striking at the heart of various nations, is eradicated. This latest act of barbarity once again reminds us that the civilised world must vigorously work together to mount a coordinated and effective campaign to confront this evil and defeat it. We hope that those responsible for this depraved attack are identified and swiftly brought to justice.”
