The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has strongly condemned the distribution of anti-Semitic flyers in Sydney by Neo-Nazi group Squadron 88. The flyers contain links to Neo-Nazi and white supremacist websites and videos.
ADC Chairman, Dr Dvir Abramovich, issued the following statement:
“I am shocked and disgusted that such revolting and hurtful brochures are being distributed in Sydney. The links contained in the flyers are to white supremacist sites run by veterans of the Ku Klux Klan that not only incite and vilify Jews and minorities, but are designed to sow a message of hate and intolerance in the hearts of residents. It is chilling that one of the links is to William Pierce, founder of the National Alliance, one of the biggest and most active neo-Nazi organizations in the world, and author of The Turner Diaries, a book which was a major inspiration for Timothy McVeigh, responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people. We denounce this vile anti-Semitic and racist campaign in the strongest possible terms and call on all leaders to publicly condemn the dissemination of this extremist material. We must all stand as one against insidious groups that are united in their loathing for the Jewish people as well as for the values of diversity and multiculturalism, and who are trying to expand their base and appeal by using the tools of hate.”
The Anti-Defamation Commission, founded in 1979, is Australia’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through educational programs that combat bigotry, prejudice and all forms of hatred.
