B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission Congratulates Richard Di Natale on his election as Greens Leader

May 12, 2015

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has congratulated Richard Di Natale on his election as leader of the Greens party and said it was looking forward to working with Mr Di Natale on a range of issues. The ADC also thanked outgoing Greens Leader Christine Milne for her long record of public service.

ADC Chairman, Dr Dvir Abramovich, issued the following statement:

“We congratulate Richard Di Natale on his election and wish him much success in leading the Greens.  Given his unequivocal opposition to the BDS and his strong support for the retention of 18c of the Racial Discrimination Act, we have no doubt that Mr Di Natale will marshal his political will and resources in the fight against the rise of anti-Semitism that is  permeating public discourse and the threat that it poses. We also look forward to working with Mr Di Natale and his colleagues on issues of mutual concern such as advocating and speaking up for a respectful and inclusive multicultural society, and educating young people about the dangers of intolerance and racism. The ADC would also like to convey its thanks to outgoing Greens Leader Christine Milne for her long record of public service, and for the steadfast support she provided to numerous ethnic and faith communities in the campaign to defeat the proposed rescinding of 18c.  We wish her the very best in her future endeavours.”
