B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission: Politicians should refrain from using Nazi references

March 22, 2015

The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has called on our electedAuschwitz representatives to stop using Nazi analogies to make political points.

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission issued the following statement:

“The use of Nazi analogies, images and references has no place in our political debate, and such usage is deeply insulting to the victims and to survivors of the Holocaust. Such offensive and insensitive comparisons demean and trivialise the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others who were murdered by the Nazis, and bear no relevance to the issues of the day .We therefore urge our leaders and elected representatives, at a state and federal level, to take care in their exercise of language, and to refrain from employing such hurtful equations in the future. No political discourse, as passionate as it may be, can justify making terribly inappropriate and insulting Nazi comparisons.”
